SP 17: Cross of Lorraine

I see that ROAR has Cross of Lorraine at 13-4 in favor of the Americans. My question is: are German players high while playing this? It looks like a balanced scenario to me. The Germans have plenty of toys vs. 6 morale troops. Just Scherpunkt somewhere and watch the US front crumble. Then start gobbling buildings. I mean, check out the German advantages: two(!) flamethrower tanks, Smoke, heavy weapons, leaders, route cutting halftracks, 150 OBA, Panthers. Sure the US has some good stuff too (TDs, FT, BAZs, leaders, fortifications, 150 OBA!!) but they have 6 morale and a large front to cover. A determined German should be able to chew it up rather nicely.

Chuck Hammond and I played this scenario last night. Unfortunately we didn't finish so we called it a draw. But with only 1.5 turns left (at 2am!) it was still anybody's game! His sniper was hot and he took out a lot of my AFVs. But I had broken his observer, I had a FFE in a good place, and had disposed of his 9-2 and AT Gun. I was primed to take a lot of buildings, and it would have been nip and tuck for both of us. I want to play it again with more preparation.

I think Cross of Lorraine is a winner. Anybody have accounts of US walkovers?
